Improvement Services for Secondary Schools and Colleges

Student Voice

This service provides a snapshot of your students’ views and falls into three parts:

Part One

Student questionnaires in which sex, year group, and ethnic background are identified. Questionnaires focus on the Every Child Matters outcomes and on student views about teaching and learning strategies. This data is analysed and a written report produced recommending key areas to be pursued in Part Two.

Part Two

Student focus groups are selected from each year as well as any groups identified by the school as a result of the questionnaire returns.

Part Three

Initial feedback on student focus groups is followed by a written report for the headteacher, ‘Student Viewpoint’, which combines the findings of the questionnaires and focus group interviews.
