Services for students to improve learning and aspirations
The Offer
1. Year Group study skills training in Y10 AND Y11: a one day course Study Skills for Success concluding with twilight session for parents/carers. The course will cover: study skills; active learning strategies; exam revision and techniques, using the internet, and improving speaking, listening and writing.
2. Aspirational coaching (group workshops and one-to-one) to:
- reinforce messages in Study Skills for Success
- develop individual aspirations and self esteem
- combat poor attendance in individual students
3. Provision of Study and Revision sessions in most key subjects (bespoke and agreed with school staff) in holidays and weekends.
4. Provision of coursework clinics in English, maths, ICT, science and technology. In some schools, re-running practical exercises underpinning coursework to compensate for staffing turnover and teaching issues (particularly in science).
